Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Pump & Valve Technician in Soweto, Gauteng to maintain, repair, and service a broad range of industrial pumps and valves. You will diagnose issues, perform precise repairs, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have a mechanical background, hands-on experience with diverse pump and valve systems, and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Must have a relevant trade qualification (NTC 2/3 or Artisan) in Mechanical Fitting, Millwright, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience maintaining and repairing industrial pumps and valves.
• Ability to diagnose and repair various pump and valve types in industrial settings.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and basic workshop equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and servicing of industrial pumps (centrifugal, positive displacement) and valves (gate, ball, globe, butterfly).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and operational problems with pumps and valves.
• Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble pumps and valves per manufacturer specs.
• Replace seals, bearings, impellers, and other components as needed.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality and performance.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repair, and service activities.
• Assist in inventory management for spare parts and components.
• Follow safety policies and procedures; collaborate with maintenance personnel and plant operators to minimize disruption.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• A relevant trade qualification (e.g., NTC 2/3, Artisan) in Mechanical Fitting, Millwright, or a related discipline.
