About the Role

Our client, a key player in industrial services and maintenance, is seeking an experienced Industrial Pump and Rotating Equipment Technician to join their team in Upington, Northern Cape, ZA . This role is focused on the installation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of various types of industrial pumps, motors, compressors, and other rotating machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, expertise in diagnosing and resolving issues related to fluid dynamics and mechanical integrity, and a thorough understanding of different pump types (centrifugal, positive displacement) and their applications. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of critical equipment across various industrial facilities. This hands‑on position requires precision, a methodical approach to problem‑solving, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Your expertise will be vital in supporting industrial operations within the Upington, Northern Cape, ZA area and contributing to operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair industrial pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment.
• Perform diagnostic assessments to identify mechanical issues, including vibration, leakage, and performance degradation.
• Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance on rotating machinery.
• Overhaul and rebuild pumps and other rotating equipment to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform alignment procedures for pumps and motors.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
• Ensure all repairs and installations meet industry standards and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repair activities, and parts used.
• Collaborate with clients and site engineers to address equipment performance issues.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Industrial Pump Technician, Rotating Equipment Mechanic, or similar mechanical role.
• Strong knowledge of various types of industrial pumps, motors, and compressors.
• Proficiency in mechanical repairs, including bearing replacement, seal installation, and shaft alignment.
• Experience with diagnostic tools such as vibration analyzers and infrared thermography.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and P&IDs.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures in industrial environments.. Physical fitness to perform tasks in industrial settings, including confined spaces and heights.
• Relevant trade certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience supporting industrial clients in or near Upington, Northern Cape, ZA is advantageous.
