Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Machinery Maintenance Engineer to join our client’s Richards Bay operations in KwaZulu-Natal. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy industrial equipment to maximise uptime and safety.

The role requires reading complex drawings, performing preventive maintenance, and working shifts including weekends. A National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and hands-on experience with pumps, conveyors, and turbines are

Qualifications

• Minimum National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience with heavy industrial machinery maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on industrial machinery, including lubrication, inspection, and calibration.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system failures.
• Conduct repairs and replace worn or defective parts on various types of industrial equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and manuals to guide maintenance actions.
• Utilize diagnostic tools to identify root causes of equipment malfunctions.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs and update equipment records.
• Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime during maintenance procedures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. • Minimum of a National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
