Placements24 client in Tembisa, Gauteng, seeks an Industrial Equipment Technician to maintain, repair and troubleshoot a range of industrial machinery, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.

You will conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and rapid response to breakdowns, reading blueprints and schematics to guide repairs while collaborating with production teams to drive reliability and safety in a busy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent practical experience is required.
• Three+ years of industrial maintenance and repair experience.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues and perform repairs promptly.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Industrial Equipment Technician to join their operations based in Tembisa, Gauteng. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on various industrial machines, including conveyors, motors, pumps, and processing equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform necessary repairs promptly and efficiently.

Requirements

• Trade qualification (e.g., NTC 3, NQF Level 4 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance and repair, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Willingness to work shifts if required and occasional overtime.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Tembisa, Gauteng area.
