Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer to manage production planning and control at its Soweto facility.

The role focuses on developing production plans, monitoring progress, addressing deviations, and improving planning accuracy to meet customer demands efficiently.

Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in a related field and 3–5 years' experience in manufacturing planning, with strong analytical, communication, and ERP/MRP skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years' experience in production planning or scheduling.
• Strong grasp of manufacturing processes and MRP.
• Proficiency with ERP or planning software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity, and material availability.
• Monitor production progress against schedules, identifying and resolving deviations or bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with procurement, inventory management, and production teams to ensure timely materials and resources.
• Optimize resource allocation (labor, machinery, materials) to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Implement and improve production control systems and procedures.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and forecast future needs.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety regulations.
• Prepare production reports, performance analyses, and capacity planning documents.
