Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer for our automotive manufacturing client in Tembisa, Gauteng. The role focuses on analyzing and improving production processes to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain high quality.

You will optimize assembly lines, material handling, and plant layouts, collaborating with production, quality, and supply chain teams. The ideal candidate has a 4+ year background in industrial engineering within manufacturing, strong Lean tool

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years hands-on industrial engineering experience in manufacturing, preferably automotive.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
• Experience with time and motion studies, work measurement, and capacity planning.
• Proficiency in CAD software for layout design and process simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop and implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban).
• Design efficient factory layouts and workflows for optimal space and resource use.
• Develop SOPs and work instructions to ensure consistent process execution.
• Collaborate with production teams to implement new processes and provide training on process changes.
• Monitor production performance and KPIs, report trends, and recommend corrective actions.
• Participate in NPI projects, providing industrial engineering support for manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities
