Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial engineering focusing on design and optimization.
• Proficiency with process mapping, Arena or FlexSim, and CAD tools.
• Knowledge of lean, ISO 9001, and SPC/Six Sigma is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new manufacturing processes and systems to meet product specifications and production goals.
• Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost, quality, and safety.
• Create detailed process documentation, including flowcharts, P&IDs, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Utilize CAD and simulation tools to model and evaluate process designs before implementation.
• Collaborate with R&D, product design, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes.
• Develop and implement process validation plans to ensure designed processes meet requirements.
• Conduct time studies and work measurements to establish performance standards.
• Support the procurement and installation of new equipment, ensuring proper integration into designed processes.
• Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions to maintain optimal performance.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in manufacturing process technology.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the automotive parts manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to focus on process design and development at their facility in Sandton, Gauteng . This role is essential for creating, refining, and optimizing manufacturing processes to meet stringent quality standards, cost targets, and production volumes. You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of process development, from initial concept and design through to implementation and validation. This is an on-site position requiring strong technical design skills and a collaborative approach. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of manufacturing systems, a creative mindset for problem-solving, and a proven ability to implement efficient and effective processes.

Key Responsibilities
