Placements24 in Port Elizabeth is seeking an Industrial Engineer to champion Manufacturing Excellence on-site. You will lead continuous improvement, analyze workflows, and apply Lean tools to boost productivity and product quality while maintaining safety on the factory floor.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering, 3–5 years' experience, and hands-on experience with process mapping, time studies, and CAD layouts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding and practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Experience with process mapping, time studies, and workplace organization (5S).
• Proficiency in CAD for layout design and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent observational skills and the ability to work effectively on the factory floor.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for efficiency gains, waste reduction, and cost savings.
• Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing tools such as 5S, Kaizen, VSM, and Kanban.
• Develop and optimize production layouts, workflows, and material handling systems.
• Design and conduct time and motion studies to establish standard work times.
• Collaborate with production supervisors and operators to implement process changes and improvements.
• Track and report on key manufacturing performance metrics (e.g., OEE, cycle time, throughput).
