Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician and Maintenance Technician for a mining services site in Rustenburg, North West. You will maintain electrical systems and support plant operations to maximise reliability.

The role requires a trade certificate, 4+ years in mining or heavy manufacturing, and strong knowledge of motor controls, VSDs, and safety procedures. You will read schematics and respond to call-outs to minimise downtime.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with a relevant trade certificate (e.g., N3 Electrical Trade Theory, Wireman's license).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician, preferably in a mining or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience with high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
• Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, motor controls, and variable speed drives.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and insulation testers.
• Understanding of safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, power distribution, and control panels for industrial machinery.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults using various testing instruments and diagnostic tools.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to perform tasks accurately.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, electrical codes, and company policies.
• Assist in the commissioning of new electrical installations and equipment.
• Respond to electrical breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to implement continuous improvement initiatives for electrical systems.
