Our client, a prominent mining operations company, is seeking an Electrical Systems Technician to join their team in Rustenburg, North West. This hands-on role covers installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment in a heavy industrial environment.

The ideal candidate has a National Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering (N3 or higher) or equivalent, plus a Trade Test as an Electrician and at least five years of relevant experience.

• National Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering (N3 or higher) or equivalent.
• Trade Test qualification as an Electrician.
• Minimum 5 years' experience as an Electrical Technician, preferably in mining/heavy industry.
• Strong ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge of SA electrical regulations and safety standards.

Responsabilidades

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including power distribution, control panels, motors, and generators.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they cause downtime.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and malfunctions using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Assist in the commissioning of new electrical installations and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Collaborate with other maintenance teams and operational staff to minimize disruptions.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures in all aspects of work.
• Respond to emergency calls to address urgent electrical issues.

Requirements

• National Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering (N3 or higher) or equivalent qualification.
• Trade Test qualification as an Electrician.

• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, including high and low voltage equipment.
• Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and insulation testers.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge of relevant South African electrical regulations and safety standards.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor and work in challenging environmental conditions.
• Valid driver's license.
