About the Role

Our client, a major player in the manufacturing and process automation sector, is seeking a skilled Industrial Control Systems Technician for their operations in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga . This role is crucial for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of sophisticated industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and associated instrumentation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in electrical engineering, automation, and troubleshooting complex industrial machinery. Key Responsibilities

• Install, program, and commission Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial control systems and related instrumentation.
• Diagnose electrical and electronic faults within automated systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Calibrate sensors, actuators, and other control system components.
• Ensure all installations and maintenance work comply with safety regulations and company standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and operators to optimize system performance.
• Maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and repairs.
• Respond to system malfunctions and implement effective solutions promptly.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Industrial Control Systems Technician or in a related automation role.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical schematics and control logic.
• Experience with troubleshooting electrical and electronic issues in an industrial environment.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Modbus).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Nelspruit, Mpumalanga area.
