Job summary

Tongaat Hulett, Voermol Feeds in Maidstone, KwaZulu-Natal, seeks a skilled CAD Draughtsman to provide specialised drafting services for civil, electrical and mechanical projects. The role is based at Voermol Feeds and reports to the Engineering Manager.

You will create two- and three-dimensional drawings, prepare Bills of Materials (BOM), and ensure drawings comply with required standards and design codes. Collaboration with site teams is essential for successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Three-year tertiary qualification in engineering draughting or equivalent.
• Registration with ECSA as Professional Technician preferred but not essential.
• Five to seven years’ experience in technical draughting within a heavy industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Attend departmental meetings to discuss draughting requirements for projects and modifications.
• Prepare draughting workplans, schedules and budget estimates for drawing office consumables.
• Plan and schedule site surveys and consultations to prepare design details and specifications.
• Produce new or revised drawings of parts, assemblies, and plant systems.
• Prepare BOMs and ensure drawings comply with standards and design codes.
• Index and file drawings and manage drawing office administration.
