Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Field Service Technician for the Rustenburg region in a hybrid role that blends on-site work with remote responsibilities. You will install, commission, calibrate, and maintain industrial automation equipment, while diagnosing complex electromechanical issues and providing remote support to clients.
The ideal candidate brings strong PLC, robotics, and HMI knowledge, along with a proactive problem-solving mindset, and a willingness to travel within the Rustenburg region.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of field service experience in industrial maintenance or related technical role.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation systems, including PLCs, robotics, and HMI.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installations, commissioning, and calibration of industrial automation equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues on-site.
- Provide remote technical support to clients and junior technicians for less critical issues.
- Analyze performance data and recommend system improvements.
- Develop and deliver technical training to client personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Document all service activities in the service management system.
- Collaborate with engineering for feedback on product performance and improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and local regulations.
- Manage spare parts inventory and service equipment.
