Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer specializing in process automation and control systems in Soweto, Gauteng. The role focuses on modernizing operations by integrating PLC, SCADA, and robotics to improve efficiency, safety, and consistency.

The candidate will analyze processes, identify automation opportunities, design automated solutions, and oversee implementation. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in industrial engineering with automation focus, and strong skills in PLC

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering.
Minimum 5 years in industrial engineering with a process automation focus.
Proven experience with PLC programming and HMI/SCADA systems.
Knowledge of robotics, industrial networking, and sensor technologies.

Responsibilities

Analyze existing processes to identify automation opportunities.
Design, develop, and implement automated control systems (PLC programming, HMI).
Integrate robotic systems and other automated equipment.
Develop data acquisition for real-time monitoring and control.
Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers for seamless integration.
Troubleshoot issues in automated processes and control systems.
Maintain documentation for automated systems (P&IDs, diagrams).
Lead automation upgrade projects and new system installations.
Train maintenance and operations staff on automated systems.
