Job summary

Mr Price Group is seeking a design-focused professional to translate trade insights into commercially relevant fashion products in Durban. You will produce CADs, concept boards, and tech packs, collaborating with Buyers and Graphics to shape seasonal ranges.

The role emphasizes trend research, product development, sample management, and maintaining brand design libraries to keep ranges current and market-ready.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' experience in Fashion Design or CAD Design within a retail or apparel environment.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, fit, and technical product development.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.

Responsibilities

• Interpret current trade performance and emerging fashion trends to identify product opportunities.
• Create high-quality CADs, concept boards, and visual presentations to support range reviews, strategy sessions, and post-mortem analyses.
• Develop and maintain brand-specific design and inspiration libraries.
• Research and monitor online fashion trends, competitor activity, and market developments to support future product direction.
• Collaborate closely with Buyers to design commercially relevant products and style extensions.
• Create detailed and accurate CADs, technical drawings, and product specifications.
• Assist in developing seasonal and in-season tech packs to support supplier execution.
• Partner with the Graphics team to brief print and graphic concepts aligned to the product strategy.
• Contribute to the development of digital merchandise collections and product presentations.
• Maintain an organised and up-to-date sample library, including photographing, tagging, cataloguing, and tracking all purchased samples.
• Support the management of overseas inspiration samples to ensure easy access and reference throughout the development process.
