Mr Price Group in Durban is seeking a Junior Graphic Designer for a fixed term contract within Power Fashion. Under supervision, you will research, design and execute a product assortment on trend to delight customers and maximise sales.

Responsibilities include developing ranges, compiling supplier tech packs, assisting in print and colour approvals, preparing marketing briefs, updating packaging and branding, and building design libraries while researching trends with guidance.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design, Clothing Technology, or Graphic Design.
• 1-2 years of clothing design experience is advantageous.
• Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign CS5.

Responsabilités

• Under supervision, develop new styles and upgrade existing styles according to seasonal strategy.
• Consolidate supplier tech packs with details for costings and execution.
• Assist in print and colour approvals and preparation of briefs.
• Update packaging, labeling and branding per seasonal strategies.
• Build design libraries and templates to aid range builds.
• Conduct trend research and store visits to ensure in-store execution matches briefs.

Job Description

Under supervision, research, design and execute a product assortment that is on trend and will delight our customers in order to maximise sales and net profit for your portfolio.

Responsibilities

Developing Ranges

1. Under the supervision and guidance of the Buyer, conceptualise, plan and develop new styles and/or upgrade existing styles according to the approved seasonal strategy, based on trends and customer demand in order to provide our customers with the wanted product.

2. With guidance, compile supplier tech packs containing detailed information on the relevant product so that the supplier can provide costings and execute.

3. Assist in print and colour approvals.

4. Assist in the preparation of marketing briefs, merch mags (VM), inspiration and boards.

5. Under supervision, update packaging, labelling and branding in accordance to seasonal strategies.

6. With guidance, build design libraries and templates to assist through range builds. "

Current Trade Analysis

1. With guidance, monitor current trade and analyse performance of product in order to identify design opportunities in upcoming seasons (brothers and sisters).

2. Along with team, conduct store visits in order to ensure that product and in store execution is as per briefs.

Trend Research & Product Development

1. With guidance, conduct competitor shops using local retailers as well as online resource to stay abreast of current trends in fashion and to present to buyer/s with findings on print colour, fabrications, category calls and newness in order to apply learnings to designs.

Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design, Clothing Technology, Graphic Design

Experience

1 - 2 years. Clothing design would be an advantage.
