Qualifications

• Admitted attorney with at least 7 years of dedicated commercial litigation experience.
• Proven track record managing complex litigation in South African courts.

• Experience managing outside counsel and controlling budgets.
• Ability to work autonomously under pressure.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned In-House Counsel specializing in Litigation to join their dynamic legal team based in Rustenburg . This senior position requires a proactive and strategic thinker who can manage a diverse portfolio of legal disputes, from inception to resolution. You will be responsible for developing litigation strategies, overseeing external counsel, and advising business units on risk management and dispute avoidance. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective litigation strategies for all pending and potential legal actions.
• Manage all aspects of pre-trial discovery, including document review, depositions, and evidence gathering.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 7 years of dedicated experience in commercial litigation .
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex litigation matters in various South African courts.
• Strong understanding of procedural law, evidence, and corporate dispute resolution.
• Experience in managing outside counsel and controlling litigation budgets.
• Excellent analytical, advocacy, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and make sound legal judgments under pressure.
