Placements24 is seeking a charismatic Community Engagement Lead to foster strong ties and active participation within the Mahikeng community. You will design and implement engagement strategies to raise awareness, participation, and support for the organization's mission, acting as the primary liaison between the NGO and local residents.

In this hybrid role, you will organize forums and events, build trust with community leaders, and create compelling materials to inform and inspire involvement.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in community engagement, public relations, or a related field.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse community populations.
• Strong understanding of community development principles and best practices.
• Experience in planning and executing events and outreach campaigns.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media management tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement community engagement strategies to increase participation and support for organizational initiatives.
• Organize and facilitate community meetings, forums, and events to gather feedback and build consensus.
• Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with community leaders, residents, and local stakeholders in Mahikeng.
• Create compelling communication materials to inform and inspire community involvement.
• Identify opportunities for partnership and collaboration with local groups and organizations.
• Monitor and report on engagement activities, measuring success and adapting strategies as needed.
