Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead community development initiatives in Klerksdorp. You will oversee project planning, execution, stakeholder engagement and delivery aligned with the organization's mission.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, or related field, and at least 4 years of PM experience in non-profit settings. Fluency in English and a local SA language is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of project management experience in non-profit or community development.
• Experience managing education, health, economic empowerment, or infrastructure projects at community level.
• Strong community needs assessment and participatory development knowledge.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with diverse groups.
• Proficiency with project management tools and software.
• Experience managing budgets and ensuring financial accountability.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be fluent in English and at least one local South African language.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Klerksdorp, North West.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic project plans for community development programs, with timelines and budgets.
• Manage end-to-end project execution from initiation to completion.
• Engage with community members, local government, NGOs and stakeholders to build partnerships.
• Oversee procurement of resources and services for project activities.
• Monitor progress with KPIs and prepare progress reports for stakeholders.
• Manage budgets and ensure financial accountability.
• Identify and mitigate risks to participants and staff safety.
• Organize community meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
• Evaluate impact and document lessons learned for future planning.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and legal frameworks.
