Job summary

Africa Practice is a mission-led strategic consulting firm advising investors and development partners across Africa. We seek a research expert to design and execute creative, rigorous mixed-methods research, build primary data collection strategies, and synthesize diverse inputs into evidence-based narratives.

This strategic role supports the growth team on breakthrough projects and policy-engagement work.

Qualifications

• Strong quantitative and qualitative research acumen.
• Excellent synthesis and storytelling with data.
• Proven ability to design and manage mixed-methods research projects.
• Experience in data-led investigations and using proxy datasets.
• Experience with primary data collection strategies, including digital methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of mixed-methods research for client projects and internal insights.
• Act as internal expert on complex research and quantitative data analysis.
• Develop primary data collection strategies including digital and social media-based surveys.
• Synthesize information from diverse sources into clear narratives and reports.
• Manage quantitative data and support basic economic/impact models.
• Oversee complex project deliverables from design to completion.
• Collaborate with team to translate data needs into research requirements.
• Champion rigorous, evidence-based inquiry aligned with the firm’s mission.
