Placements24 is seeking a Community Mobilization Officer to engage residents and empower Paarl communities in the Western Cape. You will build strong relationships, foster participation in local initiatives, and support grassroots development efforts.

Ideal candidates are people-person with excellent communication skills and a deep commitment to social development, ready to contribute to positive change in Paarl and the Western Cape.

Qualifications

• Experience in community work, social facilitation, or related field.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse groups.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and lead community meetings and events.
• Understanding of community development principles and participatory approaches.
• Knowledge of the Paarl local context and challenges.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for effective community mobilization.
• Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
• Identify and engage key community stakeholders and leaders.
• Build trust and rapport with diverse community groups.
• Support the formation and strengthening of community-based organizations.
• Monitor community engagement activities and report on progress.
• Advocate for community needs and facilitate access to resources.
