Job summary

Network Recruitment is seeking an experienced ICT Engineer II to join the Infrastructure team. The role focuses on supporting, maintaining, and improving critical IT infrastructure across multiple environments to ensure performance, security, availability and business continuity.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on with networking, virtualization, security, cloud services, backup solutions and enterprise platforms, and will contribute to modernisation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of enterprise ICT infrastructure experience.
• Experience with VMware vSphere and backup/disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of networking and security technologies.
• Ability to document procedures and maintain specs.

This role is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving critical IT infrastructure platforms to ensure optimal performance, security, availability, and business continuity across multiple operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain enterprise infrastructure environments, including VMware vSphere.
• Support compute, storage, and networking platforms.
• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, capacity planning, optimisation, and maintenance.
• Ensure resilient and scalable infrastructure solutions aligned to business requirements.

Network & Security

• Manage and support MikroTik networking environments.
• Administer Palo Alto firewall platforms, VPNs, and security policies.
• Monitor and optimise LAN, WAN, wireless, and multi-site network environments.
• Support network security initiatives and best-practice implementation.

Backup, Recovery & Business Continuity

• Maintain backup and recovery solutions.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
• Support business continuity initiatives and infrastructure recoverability.

Cloud & Identity Services

• Support cloud-based services and identity management platforms.
• Manage DNS, certificates, access control, and externally facing services.
• Ensure secure and compliant cloud operations.

Operational Support

• Act as an escalation point for infrastructure, networking, and security-related incidents.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Contribute to infrastructure improvement initiatives and projects.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and operational procedures.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Industry certifications will be advantageous.

Experience

• 5-7 years' experience in enterprise ICT infrastructure, networking, or systems administration.
• Proven experience with:
• VMware vSphere
• Backup and disaster recovery solutions
