Placements24 is seeking a Senior Transport Planner to shape the logistics strategy in the Eastern Cape. The role blends office‑based strategic work with remote operational analysis in a hybrid setup from a Port Elizabeth location.

You will lead the development of transport plans, analyze data for cost savings, and coordinate with operations, sales, and customer service to integrate plans. Strong leadership and a track record of budgeting success are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related quantitative field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in transport planning and logistics operations.
• Expertise in logistics software, route optimization tools, and TMS.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, able to interpret complex data sets.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills for a hybrid role with stakeholder management.
• Proven track record of managing transport budgets and driving cost efficiencies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and refine strategic transport plans to meet business objectives and service level agreements.
• Analyze transportation data to identify trends, cost savings, and performance improvements.
• Collaborate with operations, sales, and customer service to ensure seamless integration of transport plans.
• Manage carrier relationships, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance against metrics.
• Develop and maintain operational models for forecasting, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the planning team.
