Job summary

Pathfinders Consulting Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer to join its technology team in Cape Town. You’ll work across the stack, designing, building and maintaining backend services and user-facing applications.

You will contribute to both new product development and existing platforms, operating in an Agile environment with a modern tech stack. This contract role offers hybrid flexibility and the opportunity to own end-to-end delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in software development.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot experience.
• Solid full-stack development experience with React and TypeScript.
• Experience building REST APIs and microservices.
• Strong SQL and database design skills.
• Experience with containerised or cloud-native applications.
• Experience with Git, automated testing and CI/CD.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• A practical, problem-solving mindset.
• A strong sense of ownership and pride in delivering quality software.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices.
• Develop user-facing applications using React and TypeScript.
• Work on integrations and distributed systems.
• Design relational databases and data models.
• Contribute to containerised and cloud-native applications.
• Write automated tests and support CI/CD practices.
• Troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
• Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Own the quality, reliability and delivery of solutions.
