Placements24 is seeking a Senior Auditor for a hybrid role in Kimberley, South Africa. You will plan and execute financial audits for clients in the banking and financial services sector, ensuring accuracy of financial statements and advising on internal controls and compliance.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in public accounting with IFRS/ISA knowledge and experience in risk assessment, internal controls, and data analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• Professional certification (CA/SAIPA) is required.
• 5–7 years of progressive public accounting experience focusing on financial services audits.
• Strong IFRS and ISA knowledge.
• Experience with risk assessment and internal control evaluation.
• Proficiency in audit software and data analytics tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and execute financial audits for clients in the financial services industry.
• Assess internal control systems and identify areas for improvement.
• Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures to verify financial data.
• Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with auditing standards (ISA) and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare detailed audit reports, documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Communicate audit progress and findings to clients and senior audit staff.
• Supervise and mentor junior audit team members.
• Manage audit engagements, including budget and timeline adherence.
• Stay current with accounting and auditing pronouncements and industry developments.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
