Placements24 is assisting a reputable financial services firm in Johannesburg to recruit an Auditor. The role combines remote work with in-office collaboration in a hybrid setup, focusing on auditing financial records, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has a solid accounting background, relevant certifications, and strong analytical skills to safeguard the organization’s financial integrity and support stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification such as CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA, or CIA is highly preferred.
• Proven experience as an Auditor in public accounting or internal audit.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and regulatory frameworks.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with accounting software and audit tools.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Johannesburg.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute financial and operational audits per audit programs and standards.
• Evaluate internal controls and identify weaknesses or non-compliance.
• Gather and analyze financial data, documents, and evidence for findings.
• Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, risks, and recommendations.
• Follow up on audit recommendations for timely implementation.
• Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify key audit areas and risks.
• Collaborate with external auditors and regulators as required.
