Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Geophysical Interpreter for a leading Oil & Gas operator in Polokwane, Limpopo. The role focuses on seismic data interpretation to identify hydrocarbon prospects within SA plays, with a hybrid work arrangement for collaboration with the technical team.

The ideal candidate has a minimum 5 years in seismic interpretation, proficiency in Petrel/Kingdom/OpendTect, and strong geology knowledge to build subsurface models and risk assessments for exploration

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a related Earth Science discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in seismic data interpretation within the Oil & Gas industry.
Proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation software (Petrel, Kingdom Suite, OpendTect).
Strong understanding of seismic data processing, imaging, and structural geology.

Responsibilities

Interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to map structures, horizons, and faults.
Use seismic attributes and AVO analysis to identify hydrocarbon reservoirs.
Integrate seismic data with well logs, core data, and other geology information for subsurface models.
Generate prospect maps and evaluate geological risks for exploration opportunities.
Collaborate with geologists, reservoir engineers, and other geoscientists.
