Placements24 seeks an innovative Chemical Engineer to join its R&D team in a hybrid Paarl setting. You will design experiments, analyze results, and scale promising processes from lab to pilot scale, shaping our product portfolio with a blend of science and practical engineering.

The role requires a degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry, exposure to organic synthesis and analytical methods, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• Proven experience in laboratory research and development.
• Familiarity with organic synthesis, analytical techniques (GC, HPLC, NMR), and process scale-up.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a hybrid team.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute laboratory experiments for new product and process development.
• Analyze data, interpret results, and guide further research.
• Develop and optimize chemical synthesis routes and manufacturing processes.
• Scale up laboratory processes to pilot plant and commercial production.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and marketing teams for product launches.
• Maintain detailed lab notebooks and prepare technical reports.
