Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to support petrochemical operations in Vereeniging, South Africa. This hybrid role focuses on optimizing chemical processes, increasing efficiency and ensuring safety standards across plants.

You will analyze process data, lead improvements, design equipment and control systems, and contribute to PHAs and regulatory compliance, working with operations, maintenance and project teams both on-site and remotely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of process engineering in petrochemicals.
• Strong thermodynamics and fluid dynamics understanding.
• Hands-on experience with Aspen Plus or HYSYS.
• Knowledge of process safety management (PSM) and HAZOP.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and troubleshoot complex chemical process issues.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, yield, and product quality.
• Design and specify process equipment, control systems, and modifications.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Generate technical reports, procedures, and process documentation.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and project teams to support plant activities and capital projects.
