Placements24 is seeking a skilled Penetration Tester to join the cybersecurity team in Richards Bay. The role focuses on identifying vulnerabilities in networks, applications, and systems through simulated cyber attacks and providing actionable remediation recommendations.

Candidates should have strong technical knowledge, experience with Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, and Kali Linux, plus relevant certifications such as OSCP/CEH/GPEN are desirable. A hybrid work arrangement is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated experience in performing penetration tests and security assessments.
• Proficiency with common penetration testing tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, and Kali Linux.
• Strong understanding of web application security, network protocols, and OS vulnerabilities.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills, with ability to explain complex technical issues clearly.
• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, or GPEN are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct penetration tests on networks, web and mobile applications, and cloud environments.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and identify security flaws using manual and automated tools.
• Document findings in detailed reports with methodologies, vulnerabilities, and remediation.
• Collaborate with development and IT ops teams to advise on security improvements and validate fixes.
• Stay up-to-date with latest pentesting techniques, tools, and threat landscapes.
• Develop scripts or tools to aid testing when necessary.
