Job summary

Macmillan Davies is partnering with a leading organisation in Preston to recruit an immediate-start HR Advisor for a part-time, rolling one-month contract of up to 30 hours per week. The role requires availability to work at least 2 days per week from the Preston office.

Qualifications

• Experience as HR Advisor, HR Generalist or HRBP with strong ER experience.
• Confident coaching managers and providing pragmatic, solutions-focused advice.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
• Comfortable working independently.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Available for an immediate start or short notice period.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical HR advice and guidance to line managers.
• Manage and support employee relations casework, including performance, conduct and attendance matters.
• Coach managers on lower-level people issues, helping them resolve matters informally where appropriate.
• Act as a trusted point of contact for day-to-day HR queries.
• Build strong relationships with managers through predominantly phone and remote-based support.
