Placements24 is seeking an experienced Director of Operations and Logistics to oversee and optimize supply chain, production planning, inventory management, and distribution in the Vereeniging area. The role is hybrid with on-site leadership and strategic implementation.

You will lead a senior team, drive continuous improvement using lean principles, ensure safety and quality compliance, manage budgets, and collaborate with procurement, sales, and engineering to align operations with business

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in operations and logistics management, with at least 5 years in a Director-level role.
• Proven track record of managing complex supply chains and manufacturing operations.
• Strong expertise in inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and production planning.

Responsabilités

• Direct and manage all aspects of operations and logistics, including production planning, inventory control, warehousing, and transportation.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of operations and logistics professionals.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
• Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions to optimize outcomes.
• Manage departmental budgets, capital expenditures, and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and engineering to integrate operations with business functions.
• Drive innovation and adopt new technologies to enhance supply chain capabilities.
• Oversee the selection and management of third-party logistics providers.
