Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Drafter/Designer to translate engineering concepts into precise 2D drawings and 3D models in Upington, Northern Cape. You will collaborate closely with Mechanical Engineers to ensure designs meet specifications and industry standards.

The role supports a hybrid work arrangement balancing office and remote tasks. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of drafting experience, solid CAD skills (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor), and a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or certification in Mechanical Draughting or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Drafter or Designer.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor).
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work in a hybrid Upington environment.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other relevant documentation.
• Ensure all drawings and models adhere to company drafting standards and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers to interpret design requirements and provide feedback on constructability.
• Revise drawings based on engineering changes and design updates.
• Prepare drawing packages for manufacturing, fabrication, and installation.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical drawing files.
