Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our East London team in a hybrid role. You will manage the full cycle of mechanical product development from concept through manufacturing support, designing, analyzing, and testing systems.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, at least three years of design experience, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks or Inventor), and a pragmatic approach to manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and relevant simulation tools.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, materials science, and engineering standards.
• Strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software, ensuring functionality and manufacturability.
• Conduct engineering analyses, including stress, thermal, and vibration simulations, to validate designs.
• Produce detailed 2D manufacturing drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and production teams to optimize designs for efficient production.
• Participate in design reviews, offering technical insights and contributing to continuous improvement.
• Support the testing and validation of prototypes, troubleshooting issues and implementing design refinements.
