Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation farming equipment. This hybrid role combines in-office collaboration with remote flexibility as you design and optimize mechanical systems for tractors, harvesters, and related machinery.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 4+ years of design experience in agricultural/heavy equipment, and proficiency in CAD/FEA tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in agricultural machinery or heavy equipment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor).
• Experience with FEA software for design analysis.
• Understanding of agricultural operating environments and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new mechanical components and systems for agricultural machinery using 3D CAD software.
• Perform engineering calculations and simulations (FEA, stress analysis) to ensure design integrity and performance under field conditions.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings and specifications, adhering to industry standards.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists to ensure seamless integration of systems.
• Select appropriate materials and components, considering durability, cost, and operating environment.
• Develop and execute test plans for prototypes and production components, analyzing results and implementing improvements.
• Troubleshoot design-related issues and provide technical support for manufacturing and field operations.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and product performance.
• Stay informed about technological advancements in agricultural machinery and practices.
