Placements24 is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to manage fleet operations and streamline delivery processes in Klerksdorp and surrounding areas. The role focuses on coordinating drivers, scheduling routes, monitoring vehicle performance, and ensuring regulatory compliance to uphold high service standards.

The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and skilled in using GPS tracking and logistics software. A relevant qualification and a valid driver’s license are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in logistics coordination, fleet management or similar role in transport.
• Strong knowledge of South African transport regulations and best practices.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with multitasking ability.
• Proficiency with logistics software, GPS tracking systems and standard office tools.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for drivers and clients.
• Problem‑solving aptitude and quick decision making.
• Familiarity with road networks and North West province around Klerksdorp.
• A relevant Logistics or Supply Chain qualification is advantageous.
• A valid driver’s license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage daily fleet operations, including driver assignments and route planning for the Klerksdorp area.
• Monitor vehicle performance, maintenance schedules, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Optimize delivery routes and schedules to enhance efficiency and reduce transit times and fuel costs.
• Maintain accurate records of fleet activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
• Liaise with drivers, customers, and internal departments to resolve logistical issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ensure adherence to all national and regional transportation laws and regulations.
• Track shipments and provide real‑time updates on delivery status.
• Assist in the management of inventory related to transport operations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the logistics department.
