Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Paralegal to provide litigation support to its legal team in Paarl in a hybrid role requiring balance of remote work and in-office presence.

You will assist attorneys with trial prep, organize case files, conduct legal research, and communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel under supervision. The role offers growth and exposure to diverse litigation matters.

Qualifications

• Completed Paralegal diploma or equivalent legal qualification.
• Proven experience in litigation support or as a legal assistant in a litigation practice.
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures and legal terminology.
• Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid model.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions.
• Organize and manage case files, pleadings, discovery documents, and exhibits.
• Conduct legal research, summarize findings, and assist in drafting legal documents.
• Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel under attorney supervision.
• Manage discovery processes, including document review and production.
• Prepare timelines, summaries, and other materials to support litigation strategy.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all ethical standards.
