Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled IT and Computer Science Educator for a Randburg secondary school. You will design and deliver curricula covering coding, software development, cybersecurity, and network fundamentals, with emphasis on digital literacy and problem-solving.

You will teach both in-person and online, using Python/Java, practical projects, and hybrid learning strategies. A Bachelor's degree in CS/IT and teaching qualification (PGCE) are preferred, with experience at secondary level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT; PGCE is highly desirable.
• Proven experience teaching IT/CS at secondary school level.
• Strong knowledge of current IT trends and educational technology tools.
• Experience with both in-person and online teaching methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver high-quality instruction in IT and Computer Science subjects, including programming languages (Python, Java), web development, and data science basics.
• Develop practical, hands-on learning experiences, including coding projects, network simulations, and cybersecurity exercises.
• Assess student learning through projects, tests, and practical assignments, providing regular feedback.
• Stay current with advancements in technology and integrate them into the curriculum and teaching methodologies.
• Collaborate with the IT department and other faculty members to support school-wide technology initiatives and ensure effective hybrid learning strategies.
