Placements24 is seeking a Health & Safety Compliance Coordinator to oversee HSE across cleaning operations in Mpumalanga. You will ensure adherence to the OHS Act and environmental regulations, driving a safer workplace for staff and clients.

The role involves developing policies, conducting site inspections and risk assessments, investigating incidents, delivering training, and coordinating with regulatory bodies.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum of 4 years in Health & Safety, preferably within cleaning or facility management.
• Knowledge of South African OHS Act and environmental legislation.
• Experience in risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Solid understanding of cleaning chemicals, equipment safety, and workplace safety principles.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• MS Office proficiency; experience with HSE management systems is a plus.
• Relevant OHS certification (e.g., NEBOSH, SAMTRAC) is highly desirable.
• Willingness to travel within Mpumalanga for site visits.

Aufgaben

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures for all cleaning operations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure that all employees receive appropriate HSE training and are aware of their responsibilities.
• Manage the inventory and proper use of safety equipment and PPE.
• Liaise with external regulatory bodies and inspectors to ensure the organization meets all legal requirements.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs to staff at all levels.
• Monitor and advise on compliance with waste management and hazardous materials regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of HSE performance, training, and compliance activities.
• Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
