Placements24 is seeking a skilled Horticultural Specialist to manage its advanced greenhouse facilities in Centurion. The role focuses on cultivating high‑value crops, using innovative climate control, nutrient delivery, and pest management systems to maximize health and yield.

You will balance hands-on work with strategic planning, data‑driven decisions, and leadership of greenhouse staff in a hybrid work setting. A degree in horticulture and 5 years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Botany, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in greenhouse management or horticultural production.
• Knowledge of plant physiology, propagation and nutrient needs.
• Hydroponic or advanced controlled environment systems experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills for environmental and plant data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee greenhouse operations: environmental control, irrigation, and nutrients.
• Monitor plant health; identify diseases and pests; implement IPM.
• Conduct trials on varieties, media, and cultivation techniques.
• Manage greenhouse staff; ensure safety and procedures.
• Maintain records of crop progress and environmental data.
