Placements24 seeks a skilled Horticulturalist to manage advanced greenhouse operations in Centurion. You will oversee cultivation, pest and disease management, irrigation, climate control, and record-keeping to maximize growth and yield within a controlled environment.

The role requires a degree or diploma in Horticulture or related field and proven commercial greenhouse experience, with leadership abilities to supervise a small team.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Horticulture, Botany, Plant Science, or related field.
• Proven experience in commercial horticulture, particularly in greenhouse management.
• In-depth knowledge of plant physiology, propagation techniques, and nutrient management.
• Familiarity with greenhouse environmental control systems and IPM strategies.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lead a small team and manage daily operational tasks effectively.

• Oversee all aspects of greenhouse operations, including planting, propagation, cultivation, and harvesting.
• Manage and maintain environmental controls such as temperature, humidity, lighting, and irrigation systems.
• Implement integrated pest and disease management (IPM) strategies to ensure plant health.
• Monitor plant growth and development, making adjustments as needed to optimize conditions.
• Maintain accurate records of crop production, inputs, and pest/disease occurrences.
• Supervise and train greenhouse staff on horticultural practices and safety procedures.
