Placements24 in Centurion is seeking a skilled Horticulturist to lead our state-of-the-art commercial greenhouse operations. The role focuses on planning crop cycles, managing environmental controls, and driving high-quality yields through precise propagation techniques.

You will oversee pest and disease management, monitor plant health, and optimize irrigation and feeding schedules while leveraging technology to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Horticulture or a related plant science field.
• Experience in commercial greenhouse management with high-value crops.
• Knowledge of hydroponic or soilless growing systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with greenhouse automation and control systems.
• Strong understanding of plant physiology, pathology, and entomology.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and manage all aspects of greenhouse cultivation from seeding to harvest.
• Operate and maintain environmental control systems (temperature, humidity, lighting, CO2).
• Develop and execute integrated pest and disease management programs.
• Monitor plant health, nutrient levels, and water requirements; adjust feeding and irrigation.
• Maintain detailed records of crop performance and environmental data.
• Supervise greenhouse staff and ensure adherence to horticultural protocols.
