Job summary

Placements24 seeks an innovative Electrical Systems Integration Engineer to join our Stellenbosch team in the Western Cape. The role focuses on seamless integration of complex electrical systems, bridging hardware, software and firmware, and delivering robust solutions in a hybrid work setting.

Ideal candidates have a degree in Electrical Engineering with 4–6 years of systems integration experience, strong debugging skills, and familiarity with I2C, SPI, CAN and Ethernet protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in electrical systems integration.
• Experience in hardware/software integration in complex systems.
• Knowledge of embedded systems and communication protocols (I2C, SPI, CAN, Ethernet).
• Experience with Python for automation is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement strategies for integrating diverse electrical systems and components.
• Develop interface specifications and protocols for communication between subsystems.
• Conduct system-level testing and validation to ensure seamless operation and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues across hardware and software interfaces.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and firmware engineers to define integration requirements.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation for integrated systems, including diagrams and test procedures.
• Analyze system performance and identify areas for optimization and improvement.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in electrical systems integration.
• Provide technical support for integrated systems throughout their lifecycle.
