Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an in-home Early Years Facilitator in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on play-based learning to nurture cognitive, emotional, and social development in young children, blending structured activities with creative exploration.

You will design engaging programs, facilitate arts, music, and storytelling, support daily routines, and maintain a safe, stimulating home learning environment. Hybrid planning and remote engagement may be involved.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings.
• Qualification in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• Creative mindset with a passion for fostering learning through play.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and nurturing disposition.
• Ability to manage a hybrid schedule effectively.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
• Willingness to undergo a background check.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate educational programs focusing on creativity, problem-solving, and social skills.
• Facilitate activities including arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and outdoor play.
• Provide attentive and compassionate care, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Prepare healthy meals and snacks.
• Support daily routines including naps, hygiene, and mealtimes.
• Observe and document children's progress, identifying growth areas.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's activities and development.
• Maintain a stimulating, safe, and organized home learning environment.
• Adapt to a hybrid schedule with in-person and remote planning tasks.
