Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Drilling Engineer to join our operations in George. This hybrid role blends on-site engagement with remote analysis, focusing on planning, execution, and optimization of drilling operations while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of hands-on drilling experience, with proficiency in drilling software and well-control practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on drilling engineering experience.
• Proficiency with drilling software and geological interpretation tools.
• Strong knowledge of drilling equipment, procedures and risks.
• Experience with well control principles and safety management systems.
• Hybrid work environment with on-site oversight and remote analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop drilling plans including well trajectories and casing programs.
• Supervise drilling operations ensuring safety and policy compliance.
• Monitor daily progress and analyze performance for improvements.
• Prepare drilling reports and cost estimates for operations.
• Troubleshoot challenges to minimize non-productive time.
• Collaborate with geoscientists to interpret formation data.
