Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous and analytical Delivery Route Planner for a hybrid role in Paarl, Western Cape. You will design, implement, and continuously improve delivery routes, using routing software and mapping tools to optimize costs and delivery times for the regional fleet.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience in route planning, and the ability to work with dispatch and drivers in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in route planning, logistics coordination, or a similar role.
• Familiarity with route optimization software and mapping tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent understanding of Western Cape geography, especially Paarl area.
• Ability to work with data and generate insightful reports.
• Strong communication with drivers and staff.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy and efficiency.
• Hybrid work capability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize delivery routes for a fleet of vehicles to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
• Utilize route planning software and mapping tools to create dynamic delivery schedules.
• Analyze delivery data, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times, to identify areas for improvement.
• Coordinate with dispatchers and drivers to ensure smooth execution of planned routes.
• Adjust routes and schedules in real-time to accommodate unforeseen circumstances such as traffic, road closures, or urgent delivery requests.
• Collaborate with the operations team to understand delivery constraints and customer requirements.
• Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and delivery regulations.
• Generate reports on route efficiency, performance metrics, and proposed optimizations.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of geographical areas and potential route challenges.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in route planning and logistics.
