Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Cybersecurity Threat Hunter to join the security operations center in Richards Bay. The role focuses on identifying, investigating, and neutralizing sophisticated threats that bypass traditional security measures, using advanced analytics, threat intelligence, and security tools.

You will work with incident response and security engineering teams to improve defenses, stay ahead of cyber adversaries, and balance remote and in-office collaboration in a hybrid

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of cybersecurity experience with focus on threat intel or security operations.
• Proficient in analyzing network traffic, log data, and endpoint telemetry.
• Experience with scripting for automation (Python/PowerShell).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute proactive threat hunting methodologies.
• Analyze datasets from SIEM/EDR and network logs to identify IOCs.
• Investigate suspicious activities, determine scope and impact, document findings.
• Develop detection rules using threat intelligence and hunt findings.
• Collaborate with incident response to contain and eradicate threats.
• Stay updated on latest threats, vulnerabilities, and attacker TTPs.
