Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a passionate Community Sports Development Officer to join our Paarl team in a hybrid role. You will promote local sports participation, build partnerships with schools, clubs, and community groups, and develop sustainable sport initiatives that reach people of all ages and abilities.

You will organize events, seek funding opportunities, monitor outcomes, and contribute to a healthier, more active community through inclusive programs and effective program management.

Qualifications

• Experience in sports development, community engagement, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of sports programs and the needs of diverse community groups.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and event management skills.
• Proficiency in building and maintaining partnerships with stakeholders.
• Effective communication and presentation abilities.
• A commitment to promoting physical activity and fostering a positive sporting culture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans to increase community participation in sports and recreational activities.
• Organize and manage community sports events, leagues, and tournaments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local schools, sports clubs, community leaders, and volunteers.
• Identify funding opportunities and assist in grant writing to support sports development projects.
• Promote health and well-being through sport, focusing on inclusivity and accessibility.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs, reporting on outcomes and impact.
