Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Cloud Security Architect to design, implement, and govern secure cloud environments from a hybrid Pretoria base. You will lead security in AWS and Azure, implement IAM, encryption, monitoring, and governance across CI/CD pipelines, and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with development and operations teams, assess risks, and drive security initiatives while staying current with cloud security technologies in a dynamic growth-focused firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field.
• 5+ years IT security with cloud specialization.
• Experience designing security on AWS and/or Azure.
• Strong cloud networking, IAM, data security, and threat detection.
• Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of security frameworks (ISO27001, SOC2, HIPAA).
• Relevant cloud security certifications (AWS/Security, Azure Security, CISSP).
• Excellent problem solving and collaboration in hybrid Pretoria environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure.
• Develop and implement cloud security policies and standards.
• Architect and deploy IAM, network security groups, encryption, and monitoring tools.
• Conduct security assessments and identify risks in cloud deployments.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines with development/ops teams.
• Respond to cloud security incidents and support investigations.
• Evaluate new cloud security technologies and solutions.
• Provide guidance on best practices to internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and standards in cloud environments.
