Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an innovative Cloud Security Architect to design and implement secure cloud environments in Stellenbosch. You will ensure security and compliance of cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP, collaborating with development, operations, and security teams to embed security across the lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has deep expertise in cloud security, automation, and threat modeling within distributed cloud ecosystems, contributing to a secure and scalable cloud

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
• Proven experience as a Cloud Security Architect or similar role.
• Deep understanding of AWS, Azure, GCP and their security services.
• Experience designing secure network architectures, IAM, encryption, threat detection.
• Experience with IaC tools like Terraform and CloudFormation, and security automation.
• Strong knowledge of container security (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless security.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures using cloud-native security services and best practices.
• Develop and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Conduct security reviews of cloud deployments and mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Implement and manage IAM solutions for cloud environments.
• Design and deploy security automation for monitoring, alerting, and response.
• Collaborate with engineering to embed security in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps.
